Eng. Walter Bartels was elected CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association of Brazil - AIAB in 1995 and reelected in 1997, 2001, 2009 and 2013.
He is an Aeronautical Engineer, graduated from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA, São Jose dos Campos (1963), and Flight Test Engineer Navigator (“Ingénieur Navigant d’Essaisem Vol” – Brevent no INE-275), École du Personnel Navigant D’Essais et Recèption, Istres – France (1969). At the Graduate level he did the following courses:
• “Fabrication des Avions et des Missiles” – ENSICA/ITA;
• Introduction to Space Technology – CNAE/ITA;
• Aerodynamics of Aircrafts and Missile (Graduate Level) –Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica;
• Dynamic Stability and Control of Aircrafts and Missiles – ITA;
• “Management of Research & Development” – CTA/USAF.
With over 50 years of professional experience in the aerospace industry, he began his career in 1964 as Flight Test Engineer at the Aerospace Technical Center - CTA, and visiting teacher at ITA, occupying, in sequence, the Head of the Wind Tunnel and Flying Test Division. In 1976 he joined EMBRAER - Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica S/A, as Manager of AM-X Program and Assistant Technical Director. From 1989 to 1996 he served as Director of Government Programs and Contracts with responsibility for the AM-X, Tucano France, Tucano Egypt, CBA-123, SIVAM and AL-X Programs.
He occupies the position of Director in the Department of Competitiveness and Defense Technology and Security of FIESP, is International Advisor Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations, virtual professional association whose members are Brazil, Canada, United States, Europe, Japan and Russia, which relates to the International Civil Aviation Organization, linked to the UN.
Currently, among others, he is a member of the Technical of the Foreign Trade Association of Brazil, the Advisory Board of ANAC, representing the airline industry.
Eng. José Serrador Neto was re-elected Secretary Director at the General Assembly Meeting held on April 26, 2013.
José Serrador Neto is a Production Engineering with undergraduate degree from the PontifíciaUniversidadeCatólica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-RJ), a graduate degree in International Law and Economic Relations of Trade from Fundação Getúlio Vargas in São Paulo. He joined Embraer in 2000, as advisor to the Vice-President for External Relations and, since then, has been developing tasks related to this area.
He is currently Director of External Relations of Embraer, with responsibility for International Trade Policies, in particular the International Litigation in the WTO and the negotiations of the Aeronautical Sector in the OECD. His role also includes the management of public policy issues in Brazil and particularly related to tax matters, customs, economic / industry regulation and labor. Embraer representative in class and business entities in Brazil and abroad, his career includes stints in the area of Government Relations of Xerox of Brazil, Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and publications in the area of Foreign Trade Policy. In 2008, he was appointed as one of the Brazilian representatives for Global Leadership Seminar, international policy program at Georgetown University in Washington DC, and awarded the Commendation of Merit Aeronautical (Knight Grade) of the Brazilian Air Force (2013 GMT).
